Two arrested in Sumter hotel shooting
Police in Sumter say two men are in custody for their part in an August shooting that killed two at a Broad St. hotel.
Sumter, S.C. (WOLO)– Police in Sumter say two men are in custody for their part in an August shooting that killed two at a Broad St. hotel.
Authorities say on August 18 Saquan Logan, 20, and Tyriq Spann, 19, were found in a room at the Sleep Inn.
Investigators say Tavion Mickens, 19, was identified and later found in a Georgia jail where he was in custody for speeding and possession of a weapon.
Police say he was extradited to Sumter where he is charged with two counts of murder.
Investigators say Toney Williams, 23, was identified as having helped Mickens cover up evidence and elude police, he is charged with accessory after the fact of murder.
Sumter Police say this investigation remains ongoing and an up to $5,000 reward is available for anyone who provides information leading to additional arrests.
