ELGIN, S.C. (WOLO)– Two earthquakes have been confirmed in the Town of Elgin over the weekend, according to the SC Emergency Management Division.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) confirmed that on Saturday, September 14, a 2.13 magnitude earthquake centered 6 kilometers ESE of Elgin occurred around 2:40 p.m.

And then a 2.7 magnitude earthquake centered 5 kilometers E of Elgin happened around 6 p.m. on Sunday evening, September 15.
