Clemson Rural Health and MUSC to provide free cancer screenings to Bamberg County citizens
BAMBERG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Clemson Rural Health and MUSC are partnering together to provide cancer screenings to people in the community, according to a press release.
Free screenings will be held in October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Clemson Rural Health will be at the Bamberg County Health Department on October 21, from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
Free breast and pelvic cancer screenings, Pap/HPV tests, diagnostic tests for abnormal Ultrasound, MRI, etc. results, and colorectal screening will be available for eligible women between the ages 21 through 64 who have limited or no diagnostic health insurance or who meet the income requirements.
Also, prostate cancer and colorectal screenings will also be available for eligible men.
Additionally, MUSC will visit Bamberg in October, and their mobile unit will be at the Bamberg County Health Department on October 29, from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m to provide free screenings and mammograms.
For services lasting 15 minutes or longer, officials say participants will need to make an appointment by calling MUSC at 803-395-2841.
