Kershaw County Coroner identifies person who died after weekend I-20 collision

KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Kershaw County Coroner David West has identified the person who died after a weekend collision on I-20, says the KC Coroner’s Office.

The collision happened on Sunday, Sept. 22, at 2:49 p.m. on I 20-mile marker 87 westbound side.

The driver and the passenger was taking to a local hospital in the Columbia area where the passenger was pronounced dead and the driver was later released.

Coroner West identified the person as 78-year-old Raymond T Griffin from Columbia.

Additionally, Coroner West says Griffin appears to not have died due to the collision and had a number of medical problems.
