U.S. Justice Department sues VISA
(CNN)– The Justice Department alleges that for more than a decade, Visa has abused its dominant position in the debit card market.
On Monday, Sept. 23, the U.S. Justice Department filed a lawsuit.
The DOJ says Visa is forcing businesses to use their network instead of competitor’s’ and stopping new options from entering the market.
This complaint against Visa filed in federal court in New York, says more than 60% of debit transactions in the country take place on Visa’s debit network.
