Death toll in South Carolina rises to 33 after Hurricane Helene

(WCIV) — The death toll in South Carolina after Hurricane Helene passed through the southeast has risen to 33 Tuesday morning, according to the Department of Public Safety.
Each fatality has been confirmed through the coroner’s office for each county, the department said.
The fatalities are listed by county below:
- Aiken – 6
- Anderson – 4
- Chester – 2
- Chesterfield – 1
- Greenville – 6
- Greenwood – 1
- Newberry – 2
- Richland – 1
- Saluda – 3
- Spartanburg – 6
- York – 1
