Orangeburg Co. sheriff arrest trio accused of shoplifting

 

 

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced that a trio of shoplifters he confronted and pursued are having their days in court.

An incident report says that Sheriff Ravenell was at a Dollar General near the Highways 301 and 176 intersection where he confronted three individuals for shoplifting on Sept. 13, around 6:30 p.m.

During the pursuit of the trio, Orangeburg County Sheriff’s deputies joined the sheriff in a vehicle pursuit after the men entered into a vehicle and sped away from the business.

The three were taken into custody several miles later at a Hat Lady Lane residence.

On Thursday, Oct. 4, Jacques Weston, 20, of Orangeburg, and Jamauris Robinson, 20, of Cameron, were found guilty in a bench trial of shoplifting.

Investigators say they were each sentenced to a fine or jail.

Andre Linton, 21, of Orangeburg has pending charges of failure to stop for a blue light, possession of a schedule II narcotic, shoplifting under $2,000, and criminal conspiracy.
