COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A woman’s luck changed after buying a $10 lottery ticket, says SC Lottery officials.

Winning $500,000 playing the lottery had a calming effect on the Midlands woman.

“I felt content. I have no worries,” the winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials, who caught up with her after cashing in the big win.

The woman says her luck changed with a $10 ticket that she picked out at the Community Mart at 4101 Monticello Rd.

She could not believe that she scratched off the half-a-million dollar top prize, admitting to officials that she had to look at the ticket a second time to be sure it was real.

“It’s amazing,” she said.

The win leaves two top prizes of $500,000 in Grand Stacks game at odds of 1 in 1,440,000.
