Inmate dies at Midlands prison

Lee Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Officials with the SC Dept. of Corrections say an inmate died following a fight this morning at Lee Co. Correctional Facility.

Investigators say Trenton Black, was taken to an area hospital following an altercation with his cellmate.

Officials say he died from his injuries.

The cellmate was treated at the prison.

A department spokesperson says Black’s death is being investigated as a homicide.
