Lyft offers 50% off rides on Election Day

(CNN)– Lyft is offering 50% off rides to the polling station on Election Day as part of its Voter Access Program.

The ride share app says people without cars are less likely to vote.

According to a report released on Wednesday, Oct. 16, by Lyft, a one mile increase in distance to a polling site can reduce voter turnout by 20%.

Lyft users can take advantage of the discount by preloading the code VOTE24 into their app up until November 5.
