Girl Scouts vote to raise fees

(CNN)– Being a Girl Scout could soon cost you more. The Girl Scouts of the U.S. are voting whether to raise membership dues from $25 a year to $85 a year.

That is a 240% hike per scout. Membership dues are the organization’s largest source of revenue.

In 2023, they generated $38 million from nearly 2 million members.

But the Girl Scouts have faced cash flow issues stemming from the pandemic, inflation, and changing consumer behaviors.
