PROSPERITY, S.C. (WOLO)– Prosperity Police Department says a Newberry man has been arrested following a string of auto-break-ins in the Town of Prosperity.

Law enforcement says the string of auto-break-ins happened on Eureka and Armfield Streets.

Several witnesses reported seeing Jordan Parker Rawls walking from house to house, going inside vehicles.

Wallets, pocketbooks, and money were reported as stolen.

According to an incident report, a Prosperity Police Officer saw Rawls walking back to his moped with stolen items when he was arrested.

Rawls was charged with several counts of breaking into motor vehicles and was taken to the Newberry County Detention Center.

Prosperity Police Department’s Chief Wesley Palmore reminds drivers to always lock their vehicles and remove all valuables.
