West Columbia man arrested on charges connected to the sexual exploitation of minors

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A West Columbia man was arrested on child sexual abuse material charges, according to the AG’s Office.

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson said 29-year-old Joshua Washington Shoulders was arrested on 3 charges connected to the sexual exploitation of minors.

Shoulders was arrested by Task Force investigators with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.

Investigators with the Attorney General’s Office, also a member of the state’s ICAC Task Force, and the University of South Carolina Police Department assisted with the investigation.

Officials said investigators received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) which led them to Shoulders.

He is accused of distributing files of child sexual abuse material, and was arrested on Tuesday, Oct 22.
