West Columbia man arrested in Whitmire during patrol operation, say deputies

NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A West Columbia man was arrested in Whitmire during a patrol operation on Wednesday night, say Newberry County deputies.

Newberry County Sheriff’s Office says Raymond O. Johnston was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possession of a firearm during a violent crime after a large quantity of drugs and scales were found inside Johnston’s vehicle.

Johnston was taken to the Newberry County Detention Center where he awaits a bond hearing.
