23andMe lays off 200 workers

(CNN)– 23andMe is laying off more than 200 workers, or about 40% of its workforce, as part of a restructuring.

The at-home genetic testing and preventive health company also announced it is discontinuing further development of all its therapeutics programs.

The company expects the restructuring and streamlining plan will save more than $35 million annually.
