GM lays off 1K workers

 

(CNN)– Various media outlets report General Motors is laying off about a thousand workers.

Impacted employees were notified in an email on Friday morning, Nov. 15.

It marks the auto-marker’s latest effort to cut costs.

GM laid off more than a thousand workers in August.

And about 5 thousand employees accepted voluntary buyouts in 2023.

GM has said it is on track to reach its target of $2 billion in cost cuts by the end of this year.
