Governor Henry McMaster names first director of the Department of Environmental Services

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– On Wednesday, Nov. 20, Governor Henry McMaster named Myra Reece as the first director of the Department of Environmental Services.

Officials say Reece held leadership positions with the Department of Health and Environmental Control until it was split into smaller agencies last year.

She has been serving as the environmental services director in an interim role since then.

Her permanent title will need to be approved by the Senate in January.
