AAA tips for Thanksgiving week travel

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– AAA has some tips for last minute Thanksgiving travelers.

If you have not hit the road yet, it’s best to avoid afternoon traffic, you could head out Thanksgiving morning when traffic might be lighter.

Booking a last minute plane ticket might cost a fortune, but experts say flights upon the holiday itself might be more affordable.

With that in mind, AAA says to take carry-ons only on the plane as checked bags can be hard to deal with during delays and cancelations.
