SC Board of Education to meet to consider another round of book bans

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Happening today, Tuesday, December 3, the South Carolina Board of Education will meet to consider another round of book bans.

An 8th grade literature textbook and a novel titled ‘Crank’ are being considered.

On Monday, December 2, the American Civil Liberties Union held a news conference in objection to the board’s decisions and book banning in general.

Supporters say it keeps students from being exposed to inappropriate material in schools.
