USC football players join ‘Family Promise’ for a Christmas shopping spree

Columbia, SC (WOLO) — Families in need got to do some Christmas shopping with the Gamecocks Football Team Tuesday night.

The event was held with the organization ‘Family Promise’ at the Walmart on Forest Drive. A total of 18 families were paired with each football player as they shopped ’till they dropped.

We spoke with the group’s Executive Director James Armstrong on what the event means for families on tight times this holiday season. Each of the participants were gifted with a $400 dollars to shop with.
