SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office says a man is facing multiple charges after deputies responded to a report of a domestic issue.

The sheriff’s office says deputies responded to a report of a domestic issue and met with a victim who has visible injuries.

The victim told investigators that Darcy Clifford Anderson, Jr., assaulted them on Friday, November 22.

But they waited to report the assault until November 27, because they were afraid of Anderson, Jr., according to deputies.

The victim was taken to Prisma Tuomey Hospital to be treated for injuries.

A warrant for the arrest of Anderson on first degree domestic violence was issued.

Then on Thursday, November 29, shortly after midnight Sumter County Dispatch received a call about a break-in at an area motel on North Main Street.

Sumter County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the location and contacted Anderson.

While deputies interviewed Anderson, they viewed the room, which he is accused of burglarizing.

Inside the room, deputies say they found a victim who was seriously injured.

With evidence, and Anderson’s comments, deputies placed him under arrest for first degree assault and battery and first-degree burglary.

Both the victim and Anderson were taken to Prisma Tuomey Hospital.

Due to their injuries, the victim was taken to Prisma Richland Hospital.

Anderson was evaluated and cleared before being taken to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center where is being held without bond.
