Midlands gas prices jump as Christmas draws near

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A big jump at the pump happened this week as we get closer to Christmas.

Gas prices in the Midlands rose. Nearly 10 cents over the last week, according to GasBuddy.

Drivers here in Columbia are paying an average of $2.79 per gallon.

But the national average for gas is still set to hit its lowest rate in 3 and a half years.

According to GasBuddy, the national average right now stands at $2.98 a gallon.
