Taco Bell adding nuggets to menu

(CNN)– Taco Bell is stepping away from its Mexican-inspired cuisine a bit.

Starting on Thursday, December 19, the chain will offer chicken nuggets for a limited time.

The chicken will be marinated in a zesty jalapeño buttermilk then coated in tortilla chips and breadcrumbs.

Officials with Taco Bell say the chain is working to expand its poultry portfolio as younger eaters prefer chicken over beef.
