Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police say an incident of domestic violence lead to a fatal accident Saturday.

Investigators say they responded to Cross Hill Apartments on Blossom St. around 11 a.m. Saturday to a report of a domestic incident involving a weapon.

Police say when they arrived they learned Antavius Brown drove a female who was shot in the lower body to the hospital, however her injury was not life threatening.

At the hospital, police say Brown, who is the suspected shooter threatened to return to the apartment and hurt the children and himself.

Ultimately, police say they spotted Brown’s car behind a business on Leesburg Rd. and a chase ensued.

Police say he eventually was involved in a multi-car crash at Garners Ferry Rd. and Hazelwood Rd. where a man identified as Ryan Haman and a dog were killed.

Investigators say Brown was detained at the scene with a likely self-inflicted gunshot wound.
