2 men arrested after brief weekend pursuit, say Irmo Police

 

 

IRMO, S.C. (WOLO)– The Irmo Police Department have arrested two men after a brief pursuit over the weekend, said officers.

Officers say they have arrested 45-year-old Joshua Riley and 39-year-old Daion Bower after they refused to pull over for a vehicle license violation.

The traffic stop was attempted around 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, in the 1300 Block of Lake Murray Boulevard.

Officers say they pulled into the Kroger parking lot and drove in circles instead of stopping the vehicle.

Then, the chase took off across the Lake Murray Dam towards the Town of Lexington.

But quickly ended after they were hit by another car, when they made a right turn onto Old Cherokee Road

No injuries were reported from the crash.

Both men are facing multiple charges and are being held in the Lexington County Detention Center.

Joshua Riley was charged with expired temporary tag, reckless driving, failure to stop for blue lights, 2nd offense, driving under suspension, 1st offense, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, open container and simple possession of marijuana.

Daion Bowers was charged with interfering/resisting.

He was also wanted by South Carolina Probation Pardon and Parole and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
