COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, you still have time to visit Segra Park for Fireflies Holiday Lights.

The event is open now through January 4 but is closed on New Year’s Day.

You can ride the Fireflies Express to see more than a million lights throughout the park, along with several fun holiday activities.

You can take a pet home for New Years.

Columbia Animal Services is offering extended sleepovers.

Tuesday, December 31, is the last day to pick up a furry friend, and you have until January 11 to return them.

The shelter is open until 5 p.m. on Humane Lane.

Soda City is prepping for the new year.

Columbia will host the annual “Capital City Fireworks” event on Tuesday night, New Year’s Eve.

The fireworks display will take place off Main and Gervais Streets.

It will begin right after midnight and the best place to view the fireworks is on the north side of the State House.

Parking is free Downtown.
