U.S. Department of Transportation fines JetBlue $2 million

(CNN)– JetBlue is now the first airline to ever be penalized for delays.

The Department of Transportation has fined the company $2 million for chronic delays and “unrealistic scheduling”.

DOT says half of the money will go to customers affected by disruptions.

This is the latest effort by the department to ensure passengers are treated fairly.
