Driver killed in overnight collision on I-77 in Lexington Co.

LEXINGTON CO., S.C. (WOLO) – South Carolina Highway Patrol says a driver is dead after a collision on I-77 North overnight.

It happened at mile marker 2 at 1:05 a.m.

According to Lance Cpl. Lena Butler, the driver of a 2015 Lexus IS 250 went off the right side of the road, struck a traffic sign and overturned.

The driver died on scene from their injuries.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office is working on identifying the victim.

This incident remains under investigation.
