Police: Man randomly stabbed in Columbia store

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police say they responded to Walgreens at the intersection of Devine St. and Beltline Blvd. Tuesday morning to a report of a stabbing.

Investigators say witnesses told them Jermaine Nedd, 47,  stabbed the victim in the upper body and then a good Samaritan tackled Nedd and detained him until police arrived.

Police say it does not appear that the Nedd and the victim know each other.

Officials say the victim was transported in stable condition.

Investigators say Nedd is charged with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime.
