CRFD: Firefighters control quickly moving apartment building fire
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– First shift crews were able to control and extinguish a fire that quickly moved through an apartment building off S. Beltline Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon, says CRFD.
Shortly after 4:15 p.m. on Jan. 14, crews responded to a fire at Woodland Terrace Apartments.
While on the way to the fire, firefighters saw smoke in the air and called for a working fire dispatch, says Columbia-Richland Fire Department.
When they arrived to the scene they found fire showing from one end of the building and smoke throughout.
The fire department says crews began going door-to-door to residents and alerting them to get out of the homes.
The fire caused damage to at at least three units of the building but all occupants made it out safely and there were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
