Funeral services held for RCSD K9 shot in line-of-duty

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon, Jan. 17, for a Richland County K9 officer who died during the line of duty.

The service was held at Riverland Hills Baptist Church in Irmo.

Deputies say Bumi was shot and killed by a 13-year-old he was chasing.

Those ABC Columbia spoke with on Friday, say its never easy to say goodbye to a fallen officer.

Deputies say the teen responsible for the shooting and several others have been arrested and are facing charges.
