Costco investors vote against anti-DEI proposal

(CNN)– Costco shareholders voted down an investor proposal from a conservative think tank that urged management to investigate the business risks of its diversity initiatives.

According to preliminary results announced by Costco, an overwhelming 98% of shareholders voted against the proposal.

It involved the company’s diversity, equity, and inclusion policies which Costco leaders say are important so all employees feel included and valued.

The vote came just days after President Trump’s executive order to end DEI in the federal government.
