Former Broad River Correctional nurse assistant faces new drug trafficking charges

(WCIV) — Additional arrest warrants were released Thursday for a former nurse assistant at Broad River Correctional Institution that is being charged with trafficking drugs into the facility.
Jameelah Khadijah Fortune, 49, of Gaston, is charged with trafficking methamphetamines and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
The release states that Fortune was previously charged in August with three counts each of providing contraband to prisoners and criminal conspiracy.
The SCDC Inspector General released the additional arrest warrants after test results were returned on the contraband seized during the August arrest.
According to the release, Fortune was fired in August.
