FOREST ACRES, S.C. (WOLO)– Forest Acres Police Chief Don Robinson announces the arrest of a 19-year-old in connection with driving an SUV into a home earlier this month.

Officers say evidence at the scene and eyewitness interviews led them to identify 19-year-old Imani Sareya Ogbedobor.

Surveillance footage from January 4, revealed Ogbedobor drove about a half a mile before she turned off the headlights, missed a turn in a cul-de-sac, and crashed into the front of a home on Ponte Vedra Court while a family was inside.

Investigators say the crash also caused a gas leak, prompting the evacuation of nearby residences.

No one inside the home, vehicle or in the neighborhood were injured.

The police department says officers were responding to reports of teenagers fighting outside a house party at a rental home on Atascadero Road.

When shortly after arriving to the area, officers saw Ogbedobor drive away from that home, nearly striking people as she left the backyard.

Ogbedobor faces five misdemeanor charges for driving with a suspended license, reckless driving, failure to report striking a fixture/leaving the scene of an accident, minor in possession of alcohol, and transporting alcohol in a motor vehicle with a broken seal.
