CPD: Pedestrian hit by driver on Columbiana Drive

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– On Monday night, the 300 block of Columbiana Drive was closed after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle, said Columbia PD.

Police said shortly before 7 p.m. on Jan. 27, a male pedestrian was hit by a vehicle.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital for his life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said the pedestrian has passed away.

Preliminary info from the Traffic Safety Unit indicates that the 44-year-old man was unlawfully in the roadway for an unknown reason.

Columbia Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit is continuing to investigate he circumstances.
