Man, woman arrested after tip led to drugs being found at Lexington County apartment

 

 

 

LEXINGTON, S.C. — A man and a woman are facing drug charges after a tip from the public led narcotics agents to an apartment on South Lake Drive in Lexington County last week, said deputies.

Investigators with the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested 34-year-old Ansel Yameen Sparrow and 21-year-old Victoria Katherine Harley on Thursday, Jan. 23, at an apartment complex in the 2100 block of South Lake Drive.

“Investigators smelled marijuana coming from the apartment and were in the process of drafting a search warrant when Harley walked out of the apartment,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said.

Harley told narcotics agents Sparrow was inside and had given her a bag and told her to leave.

While investigators talked with Harley, agents saw Sparrow on the apartment’s balcony, and arrested him after he came to the door.

Cocaine, meth, marijuana, a handgun and more than $9,300 in cash was found during a search of the apartment.

Sparrow was charged with trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to distribute meth, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a weapon by a person convicted of certain crimes.

Harley was charged with trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to distribute meth, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Sparrow and Harley were taken to the Lexington County Detention Center, and have since been released after meeting conditions of their bonds.
