SCSO: Man arrested after deputies found drugs, firearm at Broad Street motel

 

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A Sumter County man has been charged in connection with drug trafficking after being arrested on Tuesday, said deputies.

Sumter County Sheriff’s Office said the Narcotics Unit and the Community Action Team executed a search warrant on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at a Broad Street motel.

At the Broad Street motel, investigators were able to find crack cocaine, and a firearm.

Cedric Maurice Copeland, 42, was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine or cocaine base, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Deputies took Copeland to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.

His bond that was set by a court is $37,500.
