Teamsters plan possible Costco strike

(CNN)– Saturday, Feb. 1, there may be picket lines at one of the nation’s largest retailers.

18,000 Costco workers are preparing for a potential strike at the company’s warehouses in New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Washington and California.

Members of the Teamsters Union authorized a strike unless a new contract was reached with the retailer before Friday, Jan. 31.

Workers are asking for better wages and benefits. Costco officials have not commented on the matter.
