(WPDE) — The South Carolina Department of Consumer Affairs (SCDCA) released the 2025 Homeowners Association (HOA) Complaint Report on Tuesday.

The report contains a compilation of data on complaints from Jan.1, to Dec. 31, 2024.

Highlights of the report include:

  • Information from 434 complaints filed against 325 HOAs/management companies
  • Complaints raised 846 concerns
  • Top three counties for complaints were Horry, Richland and Charleston
  • Amount of “unsatisfied” complaints due to business’s failure to respond increased about 5% in 2024
