13 railroad crossing closures to happen in Sumter County

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office says they have been informed by Southern Commercial Development that there will be 13 railroad crossing closures.
The closures began on March 3, and will end on March 14.
Deputies say there will be no traffic allowed to cross the tracks at these locations until work is completed.
Traffic will be rerouted, and signs will mark detour routes. Motorists should expect delays and extended travel times during these closures.
Changes to the schedule are expected depending on weather conditions and how work progresses, according to the SCSO.
Drivers are asked to avoid the areas during the closures if possible.
