Head-on collision on Orangeburg Road claims one life, injures another near Summerville

(WCIV) — An Orangeburg Road head on collision killed one Wednesday evening, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
A report on the incident states that the crash occurred between a Ford transit van and a Kia Sedan, about two miles west of Summerville at 5:01 p.m.
The driver of the Ford was reportedly traveling east on Orangeburg Road when they were struck head on by the Kia that was traveling west.
Both vehicles hit a ditch and the Ford driver was taken by EMS to an area hospital for further treatment. The driver of the Kia was pronounced dead at the scene.
