Pedestrian struck & killed on I-26 East in Newberry Co. Wednesday
NEWBERRY CO., S.C. (WOLO) – South Carolina Highway Patrol says a pedestrian was struck and killed on I-26 East Wednesday night.
It happened at 10:15 p.m. near mile marker 66.
According to Master Trooper William Bennett, a 2015 Chevy Pickup was travelling east when they hit the pedestrian, who was walking east.
The pedestrian died on scene from their injuries and the pickup driver was not hurt.
The Newberry County Coroner’s Office is working on identifying the victim.
Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
