U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, announced Wednesday that the committee will mark up the Senate’s Fiscal Year 2025 budget resolution next week.

The resolution is intended to serve as a blueprint for a reconciliation bill aimed at securing the border, strengthening the military, and increasing American energy independence.

“To those who believe that Republicans should fulfill their promises on border security, mass deportation of criminal illegal aliens: I agree,” Graham said.

He added that the Senate Budget Committee will move forward to provide funding for the Trump Administration’s Border Czar, Tom Homan. The funds will be used to complete the border wall, hire ICE agents to deport criminal illegal immigrants, and create additional detention beds.

“This will be the most transformational border security bill in the history of our country,” Graham said. “It’s time to act.”
