Fairfield Co. deputies investigating after man found unresponsive on RV campground

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Fairfield County deputies are investigating after a man was found lying face down unresponsive, said the sheriff’s office.
Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office said, just after 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6, deputies responded to a report of an unresponsive man lying face down in a wooded area near Broad River Campground on SC-215 South.
Deputies said the man was found about 30 to 40 yards outside the RV campground and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office said the man was identified as 54-year-old Luis Olmeda.
Olmeda was found by a resident of the camp ground where he lived.
The coroner’s office said there is no signs of foul play and his death appears to be natural.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
