RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Sheriff Leon Lott announces that a mother has been arrested in connection with her child’s alleged criminal activity.

On January 23, deputies were called to a local hospital for a juvenile who was taken there by his mom, with a gunshot wound to the lower body.

The investigation revealed the shooting happened in the 100 block of Haven Circle, and that there were four juveniles at the mom’s home before an altercation happened and her son was shot.

The mother who was identified as Brandi Grice was called to the home.

Grice is accused of taking all four teens to another location, before taking her son to the hospital.

Richland County Sheriff’s Department says, the shooter was included with the teens that was taken to another location.

The case is still under investigation as the shooter has not been located yet.

She was arrested on Monday, February 10, charged with accessory after the fact of a felony, and booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Seven days later on January 30, the same teens were involved in an accident in a stolen vehicle out of Lexington County, according to deputies.

Investigators say one of the teens was seen running from the scene of the accident with a firearm, which led to a foot pursuit and an RCSD K9 locating him and a pistol.

The 17-year old was charged with possession of firearm under 18 and possession of a stolen gun, and he is the brother of the teen who was shot on Haven Circle.

Grice is the mom of both the teen shot on Haven circle and of the suspect of the stolen vehicle.
