Disney to cut DEI language, change content warnings

(CNN)– Disney is changing how it approaches DEI and that will result in some changes visible to consumers.

The company is changing the wording on disclaimers that precede older films on Disney+.

The current warning indicates the films include quote: “negative depictions and/or mistreatment of peoples or cultures.”

  the new warning will indicate the content is quote: “presented as originally created and may contain stereotypes or negative depictions.”

  it comes alongside changes to diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives inside the organization
