Deputies investigate shots fired into South Sumter home

Sumter Co., SC (WOLO) — The Sumter County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting that took place in the Country Springs neighborhood around 5:45 Friday evening. According to deputies, they responded to the community located just off of Highway 15 South after getting reports of multiple shots fired into a home.

Authorities say several of those shots were fired into the residence and a car parked in front was also struck by gunfire. Officials say no inquires in connection with the shooting have been reported. Officials are still int he process of gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses to find out what led to the shooting and who may be responsible.
