Chipotle hires extra workers for upcoming ‘burrito season’

(CNN)– Chipotle Mexican Grill says it is preparing for what it calls “burrito season”.

The chain says it is hiring 20,000 more workers.

Chipotle says it sees a surge in demand from March to May, making it the busiest time of the year for its restaurants.

Revenue rose more than 18% in the second quarter of last year.

The company attributes that to its popular burrito bowl “chicken al pastor” as well as increased demand in warmer months.

Demand overall has been stable in spite of diners’ concerns about inflation and static wages.
