SCDOT to conduct nighttime detours on new bridge over Saluda River

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The South Carolina Department of Transportation will conduct temporary nighttime lane closures on the new bridge over the Saluda River (Exit 108 B-A) for two nights during the week of February 24, says SCDOT.

The nighttime closures will happen so crews can install new overhead signage over the bridge as apart of Phase 1 of the Carolina Crossroads Project.

Traffic will be detoured using I-26 westbound to I-20 westbound to I-26 eastbound.

Motorists will be directed to follow the detour onto I-126 eastbound and are encouraged to allow for additional travel time, says SCDOT.

The detour schedule for the bridge is as follows:

  • Monday, February 24, from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m.
  • Thursday, February 27, from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m.

Message boards, lane closure and detour signs will be placed along I-26 westbound to inform motorists of the detour and temporary traffic pattern.

Visit the Carolina Crossroads project webpage for more information and updates. The public may also contact the project hotline at 800-601-8715.
