RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A 28-year-old man was arrested on multiple charges, according to Sheriff Leon Lott.
Donnie Dimele Jr., 28, was charged with multiple charges including harassment 2nd degree, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, failure to stop for blue lights, and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.
On Feb. 16, at about 4 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the vicinity of Clemson Road and North Springs Road in response to a reported domestic dispute involving moving vehicles.
Richland County Dispatch received reports that a man had been repeatedly ramming his vehicle into another vehicle driven by a female acquaintance.
Upon locating the vehicle that deputies say belong to Dimele, deputies activated their emergency lights, but he attempted to flee the scene.
After a brief pursuit, Dimele collided with another occupied vehicle at the intersection of Farrow Road and Marthan Road.
With assistance from local citizens and utilizing the K9 unit, deputies tracked Dimele to a home located in the 100 block of Joe Author Circle, says the sheriff’s department.
About 10 minutes after deputies told Dimele to exit the building, he surrendered without further incident.
He was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
The person whose vehicle was hit by Dimele was evaluated by EMS personnel at the scene and was released.
